Barrel-tapered yellow poplar
Superceder™ arrow shafts

Superceder™ arrow shafts were probably the best wooden arrow shafts I ever used. The craftsmanship was first rate. The shafts were straight, consistent, accurately grouped by weight and spine, and they corrected out of my bows like only a barrel-tapered arrow can. The business closed in 1997. I have four dozen squirreled away, and I prize them.

Don Stokes mentioned in correspondence recently that he had shafts remaining from the last production run and wanted to sell them. I offered the Bowyer's Edge website for that purpose at no cost to him and no additional cost to you.

Spines available range from 30-35# through 45-50#, and 65-70# through 105-110# in lengths of 29”, 31”, and 33”. Each dozen is grouped and packaged by spine and weight, and Don checks for straightness before shipment.

I wouldn't be afraid of the higher spined shafts if your draw length is in the 27 to 28 inch range. Don't trim their length.

$45/dozen shipped in the US. International shipments by quote.

For more information and a complete list, please contact Don at dkstokes@hughes.net. Talk to him about your needs. He's as knowledgeable about wooden shafts as anyone, and he'll guide you right. Get some. They are priced right. When they are gone, they are long gone.

Testimonial excerpt from England, October 22, 2009:

Hello Don,

Thanks for your response. I actually bought almost everything Quicks had when they were clearing stock – they were great shafts of real quality. I used the shafts myself for both target and field and am sure that some of the records I held were down to the fact that I had excellent arrows thanks to your shafts.

Best regards,
